The Yaku Amazon Lodge
The Lodge
Yaku Amazon was built with the community support of Ayacucho Village. The lodge is built on stilts as the water rises several meters during the flooded season. The walls are made of wood, and the roofs are made with palm leaves woven by hand. The main and private bungalows are sealed with mosquito nets on the windows and ceiling. When the water level is low, dry season, there is an area to play soccer.
The Bungalows
The lodge is intimate as there are only three spacious bungalows, which are all private. Each private bungalow has mosquito nets, electrical outlets for charging batteries and cameras, a bathroom and a private deck with a hammock and rocking chair facing the black water lake.
The Main Bungalow
The main bungalow has a bar and a social area to have a drink, sit, relax and have conversations with other guests. This is also where we serve your gourmet meals. There is a table that has teas, coffee and a drinking water dispenser to fill your water bottle as much as needed. The upstairs in the main bungalow is an area filled with hammocks to relax. It also has a large deck with a panoramic view of the black water lake. The front porch is another social area to sit, relax and enjoy the magnficent view.
