Tour the largest market in the city of Iquitos, located in the upper part of the Belen market where you have the opportunity to view many of the different products that come from the jungle.\u00a0\u00a0 Learn about the seasonal tropical fruits, different species of fish in the Amazon (3,000 species studied by scientists), and regional dishes.\u00a0 Visit the green pharmacy \u201cPasaje Paquito\u201d to see and learn about the different species of medicinal plants that local people and healers use for healing.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Walk down to the lower part of Belen to see and visit the the Venice Loretana.<\/p>\n
We board a typical boat to observe and learn how the local people perform their daily chores in the houseboats with streets underwater.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
Taking a typical Iquitos taxi, we travel to the CREA Amazonian Rescue Center.\u00a0 Here we find one of the four species of manatees in the world.\u00a0 However, the Amazonian manatee is the only species that lives in the fresh water.\u00a0 A local biologist will guide this tour.<\/p>\n

A visit to the Quistococha zoo where you will find species of animals that exist throughout our Amazon region.\u00a0 This may include jaguars, anacondas, monkeys, tapirs, peccaries, caimans, herons, horned screamers, capybaras, macaws, river otters, ocelots, fish, etc.\u00a0 There is also a beach at Quistococha where you may swim.<\/p>\n
