Yaku Amazon Lodge has an ecological vocation, and we fight for the preservation and protection of the environment, in collaboration with Ayacucho village with rich ancestral knowledge. \u00a0We\u00a0support ecotourism by\u00a0providing employment to the local community, protecting the environment and enriching personal experiences and environmental awareness to all. \u00a0We collaborated with local architects in the building of\u00a0our lodge. \u00a0Ecotourism has a positive impact on\u00a0local\u00a0villages and the environment.\u00a0\u00a0People are living in good harmony with nature, as it was in the past. \u00a0The local people make their plantations for their own subsistance using mainly the alluvial soil brought from the Peruvian Andes being one of the richest soils on earth. \u00a0Thus, locals harvest 100% organic products and Yaku Amazon Lodge contributes by buying part of these goods.\u00a0\u00a0Local people\u00a0are\u00a0provided high quality job training\u00a0and employment\u00a0at\u00a0the lodge.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Yaku Amazon Lodge also collaborates with the Nevada Building Hope Foundation<\/a> to providing educational support, and humanitarian aid<\/span> to the people living in our local communities:\u00a0 Ayacucho, San Juan de Yanayacu, and Junin.<\/span> \u00a0As a member of the Nevada Building Hope Board, Yaku Amazon has a water oxbow lake.\u00a0\u00a0It is located\u00a0 in the heart of the primary flooded forest, rich in biodiversity, making it the ideal place to discover the flora and fauna of the Amazon.\u00a0 In this landscape, the meeting of two legendary rivers are inhabited by freshwater pink and grey dolphins.\u00a0 The forest is full of hundreds of colorful and amazing birds. \u00a0<\/span><\/span>The lodge is surrounded by many black water lakes filled\u00a0with\u00a0water lilies, caimans, anacondas, turtles and other animals in the area. \u00a0The only Institution that works with fresh water manatees in Peru is CREA, as manatees are near extinction in the Amazonia and CREA has released several manatees in our area. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n bungalow includes a private tiled bathroom, 24-hour water,\u00a0 and a private balcony facing the black water lake.\u00a0 WiFi is absent from our lodge, allowing our guests to disconnect from the modern world and\u00a0\u00a0reside in harmony with the spirit of the forest and nature.\u00a0 Electricity is available in the main and private bungalows to charge electronic devices.<\/span><\/p>\n To protect the natural environment, our sewer system goes to a septic tank, organic waste is composted or used as fertilizer,\u00a0 and the remaining trash is taken to Iquitos, where some items may be
